| The company develops, markets and supports Windows-based software products that assist electronics designers in developing field-programmable gate arrays, including complex programmable logic devices, and printed circuit boards. FPGAs and PCBs are found in a majority of today's electronic products and are therefore often referred to as mainstream components. The company believes that by using OrCAD's products, electronics designers working on desktop personal computers can reduce time to market, improve product capability and lower design costs. OrCADS's desktop, Windows-based, electronic design automation solutions support the design process for mainstream components from schematic capture through simulation and PCB layout. Over 150,000 products bearing the OrCAD name have been shipped worldwide since 1986. The company recently released OrCAD Design Desktop for Windows product family is an integrated suite of Windows-based EDA products that includes OrCAD Capture for Windows, which allows users to create the logic for electronic designs, OrCAD Simulate for Windows, OrCAD Layout, Layout Plus and Layout Ltd. for Windows. |
