| The company is a leading provider of flexible, open architecture clinical information systems designed to enable health care providers to make improvements in cost, efficiency and medical outcomes across the continuum of care. The company's Open Architecture Clinical Information System is deployed and used by hospitals and integrated health care delivery systems and hospitals, that service a community or defined member population. The company's clinical information systems are designed to operate with and integrate existing legacy and "best of breed" departmental information systems, enabling the hospital or IDS to preserve its investment in these systems. The company collects and transmits clinical, financial and demographic data from the numerous departmental systems within a hospital or IDS and integrates this data into a patient-centered clinical data repository. The repository is designed to serve as a lifetime medical record for each patient. Through the company's applications and its customized, graphical user interface, physicians, nurses and other clinicians can view, manipulate and act on the patient's electronic medical record in real time at the point of care. |
