Business Description
The company is a worldwide leader in turbomolecular vacuum pumps, the fastest growing segment of the high vacuum pump industry. In 1995, the company held the largest market share worldwide in turbomolecular vacuum pumps. The company invented the turbomolecular vacuum pump in 1958 and has been a leading innovator in vacuum technology since the company was founded in 1980. The company designs manufactures and services a broad range of turbomolecular vacuum pumps, rotary vane pumps, roots pumps and customized vacuum systems. Through a global sales and service organization located in 33 countries, the company markets and services these products and a wide variety of complementary vacuum components and instruments manufactured by third parties. The company's products are used in numerous applications, including the operation of analytical instruments such as electron microscopes and mass spectrometers, the manufacturing of television tubes, computer monitor tubes, semiconductors and flat-screen displays, and the deposition of thin film coating on computer hard disks and compact discs.
