| The company is a leading developer and provider of navigable databases for use in route-guidance products in the U.S. and Europe. Route Guidance Products are in-vehicle software and hardware systems that use global positioning satellite and other technologies. These products provide dynamic real-time positioning information and turn-by-turn driving directions, enabling accurate and efficient vehicle navigation. A highly accurate and comprehensible navigable database, such as the NavTech database, is essential to the successful operation of Route Guidance Products, both for continuously tracking the vehicle's position and for calculating driving routes. NavTech's navigable database is a digital representation of road transportation networks and points of interest in the UNited States and selected European countries, constructed to provide the high level of accuracy and detail necessary to support route guidance and related applications. |
