| Business Description |
| The company is the largest, lowest cost, integrated producer of uranium in the world. Since its inception, the company has sold its uranium exclusively for use by electric utilities in the nuclear generation of electric power. The company has increased its production of uranium concentrate from 11 million pounds in 1991 to 15 million pounds in 1995, representing more than 23% of the uranium produced in the Western World during 1995. The company's increased production has enabled it to take advantage of the significant imbalance between the annual level of uranium concentrate production and consumption in the Western World. For example, the Western World consumption was 127% larger than Western World production in 1994 according to estimates published by the Uranium Institute. The company has also benefited from the rise in the spot market price for uranium concentrate. |
