| Business Description |
| The company is the third largest operator of supermarkets in Chile and the second largest operator of supermarkets in the capital city of Santiago, in each case in terms of sales. The company and its predecessors have been leading participants in the Chilean supermarket sector for 35 years. The company believes that during this period, especially during the last 14 years under the "Unimarc" brand, it has become widely associated with high quality products and competitive pricing. The company operates 31 supermarkets in Chile (21 of which are owned by the company and ten of which are leased, including one leased from an affiliate) and four supermarkets in Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina (all of which are leased). Of the 31 supermarkets operated by the company in Chile, 25 are located in the Santiago Metropolitan Region, which has the highest population density and income of any Region in Chile. |
